This series explores the interplay of unpredictability, resilience, and the passage of time through various tactile and digital processes. Each piece reflects a personal response to life’s shifts—whether through felting in 8 Taper Candles to symbolize adaptation or preserving a tender farewell in Kate, Goodbye, captured through etching and weaving. The physicality of the processes, the binding friction of wool or the permanence of etched marks, mirrors the emotional and mental labor involved in navigating life’s transitions.
In Broken Stars and Can’t Help Seeking Corners, these themes of transformation and memory extend further, focusing on chaos and the hidden systems beneath them. Broken Stars incorporates labor-intensive quilting and hand-beading to evoke a sense of protection through disordered beauty, while Can’t Help Seeking Corners merges digital randomness with structured grids to reflect on cosmic phenomena and life’s unpredictability. Together, these works engage with both control and surrender, inviting reflection on how we navigate external pressures, preserve moments, and adapt to the changing currents of life.
